Spend time with our horses and experience a spiritual connection at a deeply profound level. Horses are more sensitive to people’s emotions and intent than most other creatures. Horses are prey animals, though large, they need to feel and develop a bond and trust for people and we, as humans, can learn to become gentle but firm leaders for our equine friends.
“Love, language and leadership.” – Pat Parelli
We have 3 Horses – Midge – 22-Year Old Mare, Skeeter – 20-Year-Old Gelding and Magi(currently not ready for guests, in training) 5-year old Gelding.
When scheduling with us you are not required to ride any of the horses, we(you and us) may decide collectively that you may just want to start off assisting us to groom the horses and getting to know them. Just the mere presence of a horse has a calming and healing effect. If initially you think you may want to ride and after arriving become unsure there is no pressure to ride, it’s all about a healthy confidence level and safety first.
If you have never ridden before we will likely not go faster than a walk.
Our Horses are located in Aitkin, MN. 2 hours north of the Twin Cities on a Farm called, Murphy’s Grove. If you have a cabin or plan to be up in the area for any reason and are interested in coming to Aitkin please contact us so we can arrange a date and time for you to meet the horses. Please no small children. Participants or (if they are under 18)their legal guardians will be asked to sign a release of liability for us as well as for the Farm Owners.
The farm the horses are located at, in Aitkin raises animals such as chickens. ducks, geese and goats. They also sell homemade preserves. All animals are pasture-raised and well cared for. While there, you can buy eggs, meat or fruit preserves from Murphy’s Grove Farm.
